Change default settings on datasets

How to rename a dataset, set field defaults, hide fields, and change column order in Data Manager.

As an Admin, you will have access to the 'Data Manager' accessible from the left navigation menu.

How to change the default name of a dataset?

  • Go to 'Data Manager' ➡ 'Datasets'

  • Type in a display name for the dataset that you wish to rename

How to edit field description & display name

  • Go to 'Data Manager' ➡ 'Datasets'

  • Select the dataset which contains the field you want to edit

  • Go to the tab 'Fields'

  • Search or scroll to find the field you're interested in

  • Type in a suitable display name & description

How to hide fields from the raw data grid

  • Go to 'Data Manager' ➡ 'Datasets'

  • Select the dataset which contains the field you want to edit

  • Go to the tab 'Fields'

  • Search or scroll to find the field you're interested in

  • Uncheck the checkbox 'Enabled'

How to change the default order of columns on the raw data grid

  • Go to 'Data Manager' ➡ 'Datasets'

  • Select the dataset for which you want to change the default column order

  • Go to the tab 'Fields'

  • Use the drag handle on the right end of each field to re-order it

Edit default field settings

  • Go to 'Data Manager' ➡ 'Datasets'

  • Select the dataset which contains the field you want to edit

  • Go to the tab 'Fields'

  • Search or scroll to find the field you're interested in

  • Click the field name to open the field settings

  • Change the settings as needed

You can change the cell type, the format of the cell such as date format in case of a date field or precision in case of a currency or numerical field.

Note: Sometimes the precision setting is unavailable for Cell Type: Number because the field is an integer or whole number.
