Update Fleet Manager templates with reminders gadget

How to update a Fleet Manager template by adding a reminders gadget that propagates to every dashboard built from it.

Note: this feature is available to Admin users only.

Reminders gadget is a useful tool for your Fleet Managers to connect with their drivers.

Most Fleet Manager dashboards are created from templates. To update fleet manager dashboards you need to update the template itself

To update the template with reminders gadget, you need to create the gadget first.

  • Go to Dashboards index screen to access your templates. Click on a drop down list of the dashboard types, select templates and de-select the default types:

  • Open Fleet Manager Template, click the menu in the top right-hand corner and select: 'Add Visualization' -> 'Create new gadget'.

  • This will open the gadget builder for you. Click the drop down list with gadget types and scroll down or search to select 'Reminders'.

  • Add the relevant variable filters set up on the template so that the gadget displays reminders specific to each driver manager. These can be identified by the yellow 'Variable filter' tag.

  • When you click 'Save' on the gadget builder, a pop up window will inform you how many dashboards created from the FM template will be affected by those changes. Click 'Update' if you are fine with this.

  • You will be presented with the template opened in the 'Edit' mode, so you'll now have the opportunity to adjust the size of the new gadget, reposition gadgets or remove some that are not relevant anymore.
