A Simple Grid is used to display raw data from a single dataset


To create a Simple Grid

  • Ensure you are on a dashboard (not created from a template).

  • Click on the menu located in the top-right corner of the screen.

  • Select 'Add Visualization' -> 'Create new gadget.'


  • In the 'Create new gadget' window, select 'Simple Grid' as the gadget type.


  • Enter a name for the Simple Grid gadget.

  • Select the dataset that you want to display data.


  • Once you've selected the desired dataset, choose the fields that you want to display by clicking on 'Add Column'


  • To change the displayed column name, add aliases to the selected columns.


  • To remove a column click on the 'X' in the list of fields.

  • To reorder columns, simply drag & drop the fields from the list of fields.


  • To specify the sort order, click on 'Add Sort' at the bottom of the gadget settings form.

  • Select the field and the desired order (ascending / descending) you want to use for sorting.


  • Set the default date range for your Simple Grid using the date picker

  • If you want to set up a report to drill down to from this gadget, select a report from the dropdown located in the top-right corner.

  • Once you've configured the default date scope, run time filters & scope filters, click 'Save'.

  • The Simple Grid gadget will be added to the bottom of your dashboard. Scroll down if needed to re-position and resize the gadget as required.
