Understand your metrics using metric definitions

How to view, edit, and audit a metric's definition directly from the gadget that uses it.

Metric Definitions save you time and confusion by showing you exactly how a metric is calculated, which datasets have been used to define the metric and whether any filters have been applied.

How to access metric definitions?

To access the metric definition(s),

  • Click the icon that appears on the top-right corner of the gadget when you hover it.

  • This will display a pop-up with the description, calculation and filters (if any) of the metric(s) used in the gadget.

How to edit the metric from the metric definition?

To make life easier for we allow you as an App or System Admin, to go directly from the metric definition to the metric builder so you can make changes. If you have the permission, you will see a pop out icon next to the metric definition which will bring you to the builder.
