We recommend using the copy gadget tool to start new dashboards or add new gadgets to your existing dashboard. When you find yourself asking the same questions of your report (applying the same filters and date ranges to see particular set of data), use 'copy gadget' tool to save the answers to your questions on a dashboard. This way, you will have the answers available to you faster in one place.

Gadgets can be copied from a dashboard or a report to:

  • A new dashboard

  • An existing dashboard

  • Wallboard

Note: You can copy a gadget to a template and this will automatically add it to all dashboards created from that template.

Copy a gadget from a report

Do you find yourself repeatedly asking the same question on a report using filters? Do this action once and copy the desired gadget to your dashboard. Ask your question using filters on a report.

For example. Let's say you have a driver utilization report that you filter by 3 specific divisions every time to see the Utilization by Driver for the current week. You can apply these filters and copy that specific gadget to your dashboard.

The newly copied gadget will be automatically filtered by the filters set on the report at the time of copying. This gadget will also drill down to the report from which it was copied.

Copy a gadget from a dashboard

Do you want to have the same or similar gadget with different filters on the same or new dashboard?

Once you've copied the gadget to a dashboard, click on 'Edit filters' option under the gadget's menu to modify filters and make other changes such as adding / removing metrics.
